When researching some of Jeb Bush it compares him to Donald Trump where he leads with 28 percent of the polls, Ben Carson is second at 17 percent, Bush is at 13, and Rubio at 10. This means that Bush needs to start doing. Even in Florida Jeb Bush is struggling in those poles with Donald Trump still leading. This is interesting to see in that Jeb was governor of Florida for about 8 years and is still losing in those polls. Even when Gravis tested Rubio and Bush head to head in the battle for Florida Rubio won that to topping Jeb 51/31. People are even speculating that he should stay in the race more than Jeb. 62 percent of people are backing Rubio to stay in the race compared to that of 52 percent of the percent of the people who want Bush to back out.

I think the reasons for Rubio to be more popular for Florida is because they know him better Than Jeb at this point. Not only Rubio but Jeb trails Trump with the GOP electorate in Florida is very weak trailing Trump 55/38 when they match up head to head. During the beginning of the year Bush led the Republican field

Jeb has also been out of office for so long and young voters don’t know who he, but just know the last name. I had this comparison myself in that I had never knew or heard of who Jeb Bush was until I joined this communications class. From reading about these polls I think Jeb has a mountain to climb if he is going to have any success being the second worst in the Presidential Election.

The benefits that Jeb has going for him right now is that there is still a whole year until the Presidential Election and early polls don’t really matter. To me it’s almost like a marathon and the last player can even win using different tactics and harder work. Also what we can learn from early polls is that they aren’t indicators of future presidential success. If something is not working then then the campaign team needs to come together and brainstorm ideas to fix the issue at hand. Looking back at the history of polling early front runners can have more problems crossing the Finnish line. Let’s look at one example in past polling that I remember was the Obama/Clinton campaign in 2008. Hilary led Obama 28-23 percent and Obama won a long primary campaign.

  1. Do you think that is a bad thing that the state he was a governor in he is not winning in the polls? Do you think that is bad or not?

  2. you had a excellent point when you said "young voters don't know who he is" I can say I for one didn't know who is was either. I like your closing when you compare Hillary/Obama however I don't think you can place those on the same scale, people knew who both those people they were known, and you said we don't really know Jeb. I think he has a few mountains to climb, my question is do you think he actually has a chance? If not what does he need to change so that he would?

  3. You make a great point about Jeb struggling in the polls. I think it can be attributed to many people comparing him to his family members that were previously in office. Would you agree?

  4. You do a great job giving details about Jeb in the polls. Do you think Jeb can gain more momentum in the polls after the debate next week?

  5. I think you did a great job of talking statistics then providing the visuals to not only accompany but to reinforce what you are saying. One of the best ways to talk about polls is to make reference to them and then visually show what you are talking about. Also a great job done on talking about ways to improve.

  6. I liked the detail on the information on your polls. It was interesting to me that you found polls on your candidate based on race. I did not show any polls regarding race for my candidate. Good idea.
